I am enthralled by the free publication, Chopsticks NY, at newsboxes along the pavement in Manhattan. This magazine basically lists a panoply of ramen restaurants around the island, in other boroughs, and Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey, to my surprise. I had no idea there were so many sit down locations just for ramen. I'm of the Cup O' Noodles school of ramen and am a virgin to this culture, but am very interested. There are also articles on Japanese culture, ads, and directories for grocery, schools, spas, other types of shops, and acupuncture.
I came upon this ramen and Japanese fantasy guide while in the Bloomingdale's/East 59th Street vicinity where there are also some nice furniture stores. I enjoyed Roche Bobois, Elite Home, di Rucci, Mattress Firm, Design Within Reach, Bloomingdale's, a couple of great antique places, and Design Within Reach where you can buy a chair by Saarinen that is displayed at MOMA. My favs were the patchwork cushion couch at Roche Bobois, Murano chandeliers and mirrors at Elite Home, cooling mattresses and pillows at Mattress Firm, pretty revolving velvet cocktail chairs at Bloomie's, a neat deco credenza at a 2nd Avenue antique shop, and a desk with study carrel-like shelves at Design Within Reach.

Downtown on Madison Avenue I found that I adored ddc in two locations. There were amazing offerings by Paola Lenti, Glas, Roda, Giorgetti, and Baxter at the East 34th Street location and great stuff by other vendors further down on Madison Avenue at East 31st Street including "Silly String" chairs, a polar bear iceberg couch, a completely marble kitchen, and a neat infinity illusion mirror. My favs at the 34th Street locale were the Baxter tiered bookshelves with wicker platforms, Lenti's weaving loom blanket cushions, Giorgetti's leather mini bar and sculpted wooden rocking chair, Baxter's "loft" couches in dark grey and their Funny Lady large revolving mirrors, the Roda outdoor patio table with green ceramic glossy paneled top, and a new trend in dining rooms -- matte marble tables in traditional grey and white or colored swirls by Giorgetti and Lenti. Fendi and Trussardi have some nice offerings and a walk through Ye Olde Good Things is fun. ABC Carpet and Home is still thrilling for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland aficionados and Scully and Scully is a place I never go to, but plan to purchase from even though I am relatively unfamiliar with their styles.

The east side has become a nice respite for me in my homelessness "for Rent," so I am grateful to the good-looking residents and the nice furniture stores and convenient Whole Foods on East 57th Street. Find me to follow through with my laundry list of "assistance needed" requests, murder house help, time machine advice, some rehab for sexual and socio/sexual/spiritual abuse, Armegeddon talks, a new Confederacy, and a good time (for me, of course, since I have been paralyzed still since 2014). I am needed in my community and abroad as a healer, alchemist, bon vivant, and socialite "like my mom." Please put cash in my hand and get me an address. I do not want to do time for "stealing food." Thanks.
